Course Types

There are a variety of different course types and levels available. In the Summer and Easter holidays, an intensive fortnight of tuition with the students swimming every day, Monday to Friday, is held. Weekly lessons run during term time, for children at school, classes are held daily after school and on Saturday mornings. Classes are also offered for pre-school children during the day and for adults in the mornings and evenings.

Studies have found that children who started swimming lessons from a young age had advanced motor development, social skills and intelligence. Water helps improve co-ordination and balance as well as exercising more muscles. Learning to respond to the instructions also helps them develop mentally and increases levels of understanding.

General Features

Teachers are in the water with the class and this builds confidence as well as ensuring that the correct technique is performed by the pupil. Pupils learn the correct way all the time as mistakes are able to be corrected immediately.

Another feature of the Easy 2 Swim School is that personal survival and water safety is taught from day one regardless of age. Children are taught from as young as 2 years old how to be safe which means peace of mind for parents. Death by drowning is the third biggest cause of accidental death in the UK so this is a vital part of the lesson.

Our formal lessons start at 2 and we try to teach your child to swim as soon as they are able whilst teaching correct technique at their level. All our activities and drills encourage pupils to concentrate, use controlled movements and aid overall co-ordination, skills that are vital for all sports.

Swimming is also extremely beneficial for pupils with special needs as the increased resistance in the water builds muscle tone, this is true for all pupils. Swimming also aids development of motor skills, physical fitness and as class sizes are kept small, no more than 4 pupils per teacher, enables pupils to remain focused as well as allowing for interaction. Lessons run for 20 minutes as they are intense due to the small classes and pupils are therefore able to concentrate for the entire lesson. We encourage pupils to play in the water, within reason, to develop confidence when they are awaiting their turn.
